One of the main Portuguese limestone is called Moca Creme, which is a beige coloured limestone with an unique paralel vein. The Moca Creme has gained international recognition due to its beautiful work done in cladding, decoration and diverse projects. It is today a reference beige limestone worldwide.

Background

The area where the Moca Cream Limestone is extracted is also known for its famous ancestors. We are talking about dinosaurs that populated this area more than 175 millions year ago. Located in the Serra D´Aires e Candeeiros Natural Park, the Moca Cream limestone extraction area lies in the district of Alcanede.

Description

The Moca Cream is a beige coloured limestone, characterized by its parallel vein and uniform background. However, when the same stone is cut in favour of the vein it shows a relatively different appearance, with a more uniform background and light beige colour, with no signs of vein.

Recommended applications

The Moca Cream limestone is most commonly used in interior covering walls and exterior applications such as cladding. It is also a preferential limestone used in flooring with moderate utilization. However, the type of work that bring the most credit and recognition to the Moca Cream’s beautiful veinage and colour are masonry and stonework done for interior decoration.

Main markets

The Moca Creme is a well known type of limestone from Portugal with a considerable market pretty much everywhere. Some of these markets are:
- USA
- China
- North of Europe
- Middle East

Alternative names

The Moca Creme can be found in the market with different names. Some of these names are:
- Mocha Cream
- St Hubert
- Marbella limestone
- Crema Moca

We are glad to introduce you to the new informative websites about Chinese natural stones. After publishing Hainanbasalt.com, a website about a Chinese black basalt, we have just published 4 new websites about some of the most relevant Chinese granites. These are:

www.shanxi-black.biz

www.mapleredgranite.com

www.g603granite.net

www.g682granite.net

This is a natural expansion of our business, into a market that is already the largest producer of natural stone in the world. On the contrary of what many people think, China has some great quality natural stones that can have its place on the international market. The four natural stones we present here are a good example of that:

- Shanxi Black: a black coloured granite, with a considerable market both in China and abroad. It presents a deep black colour and is today the most relevant black granite from China.

- Maple Red: a red coloured granite, with a solid market both in China and abroad. It presents a beautiful red colour and an interesting uniformity.
- G603 granite: a grey coloured granite, the G603 is considered a combat stone due to its large availability, hardness and uniformity. This is one of the most famous Chinese natural stones.
- G682 granite: a yellow coloured granite, with a good market in China and abroad. The G682 is the reference yellow coloured granite from China.
