Introduction to the Lioz limestone

The Lioz is a wonderful and unique Portuguese limestone that has been used for centuries on all sorts of public buildings, monuments, churches, being found pretty much all over Portugal. 

The Lioz is a well-known Portuguese limestone that has been used for centuries in the building industry in Portugal, being considered one of the oldest and mostly used limestone in the country. It is a limestone with a beige color, known for its abundance of fossils and inclusions and sort-of messy structure.

This is a very hard limestone, quite compact, that is ideal for pretty much any kind of application, both interior and exterior. For this reason, this limestone has been used on all sorts of public projects, exterior and with high traffic. It can be found in churches, museums and all sorts of monuments and buildings. This limestone may present variations based on color mostly.

The Lioz is an historical Portuguese natural stone that has been used for centuries on public buildings. Today, it is considered a fairly exclusive stone that can be found on decoration projects, cladding, landscaping, flooring and more. Due to its considerable hardness, this is a great limestone for different exterior applications.

The Lioz Azul is a blue colored limestone, with irregular background and thin grain. It presents clear signs of fossils throughout its surface as well as a brownish tone. Its main variations depend on the amount of fossils as well as color variations. This is a direct variation of the well-known Lioz limestone, but presenting a blue color.

The Lioz Amarelo is a yellowish / beige colored limestone, with irregular background and thin grain. It presents clear signs of fossils throughout its surface as well as a bluish tone. Its main variations depend on the amount of fossils as well as color variations.
