The Moleanos Blue (Azul) is a grey-blue limestone from Portugal that presents a fairly uniform background and quite some hardness. With a grain can range from fine to medium, the surface is quite specific presenting regular elements, such as fossils, shells and some lighter and darker spots. The Moleanos is a reference limestone in the world, with the Blue type as a less-known but nonetheless on high demand. The limestone is today used on almost any type of application and with different surface finishings. The finishings that are currently the most popular and on-demand are the polished, honed, flamed and sandblasted-brushed. While the first two are commonly used on interior applications, the latter is often used on exterior ones.
